How Much Beef Should I Eat on the Beef and Butter Fast?

I get this question over and over again. “How Much Beef Should I Eat on the Beef and Butter Fast?”

I want to start off by telling you that you absolutely don’t have to track your numbers if you are not the type of person who likes to track them in the first place. The Beef and Butter Fast™ challenge was designed to help you break a weight loss stall on the Ketogenic Diet the EASY way. It’s really hard to overeat when you stick to this plan. The fat intake you consume will make you feel full! In fact, most people are surprised at how full they get. I hear more times than not, they cannot finish the meals they planned simply because they are not hungry.  That’s the beauty of this plan!

Now, if you are the type of person that likes to track your macronutrients (macros), then this should help clear up the question of “How much beef should I eat on the beef and butter fast™ challenge?”

I’ve also created a Beef and Butter Fast™ Example Meal Plans menu so that you can look at your own calorie amounts to determine about how much beef you should eat on this fast.  Remember, you don’t have to stick to beef and butter alone.  We do have a Beef and Butter Fast™ Substitutions list too!  You will use a food tracking app to calculate all of you substitutes so that you can stay as close to your calories as possible when doing the 4 day fast.

  1. Hello,

    I’m excited about this fast, I have a few questions about substitutions. Do I have to use ground beef, or can I use brisket or chuck? Can I use primal mayonnaise instead of butter?

    1. I would recommend eating the macros required when you calculate. However, I’ve never been able to eat that full amount in that small amount of time. This diet technique is extremely filling. I can easily do the 16:8 though.
